Rockfish Camp and Retreat Center is nestled on 486 acres in the Sandhills region of North Carolina. Rockfish is located at the intersection of Hoke, Cumberland and Robeson counties and borders Lake Upchurch.
Overview of Events
We conduct herpetological fieldwork or project work in small groups, initiating new studies on box turtles, aquatic turtles, vernal pools, frogs, lizards, and snakes. In the evenings, we feature instruction on outdoor photography and other topics connected to herpetological and outdoor education. Participants have the opportunity to study the snakes, frogs, lizards, turtles, and salamanders that live, breed, feed and move through mixed forests and wetlands.
