BTC: How to Help

How can you get involved?

Tell a scientist!

Add data to the Carolina Herp Atlas.  Whenever you see a turtle, note its location and enter a report on the Atlas. You can upload photos of turtles and if you do, it is helpful to take a picture of the patterns on both the top shell and the bottom shell.  The Box Turtle Connection manual provides information on distinguishing males from females.

This option gives you an opportunity to assist scientists without any long term commitment.  Simply create a user id and enter the data.

Become a Project Leader
This option requires a long term commitment, equipment, face-to-face training in March or April by the Box Turtle Collaborative, and a willingness to meet deadlines for data entry.

At this time, there are no open positions for Project Leaders.  Check back periodically for new openings!
