Chelsea Arey, a park ranger, recalls a snapping turtle from her youth.
CA: As a little girl, my dad and I were driving down a road in our town, where I’m from and there was a big snapping turtle in the road. And he and I got out, we stopped traffic, and figured out a way, without being bit, to get this huge snapping turtle out of the road. And we figured out a way to get it in the back of the truck and we went and released it in a lake close by. But it was just something I’ll always remember. It was cool.
