Keels

Susan Keels tells our interviewer about her scariest experience in nature.

Susan KeelsSK: I was in Florida. We were driving through a nature preserve and there was a large alligator laying under a shade tree. There wasn’t many trees around and there was a ditch of water between the road and the tree where the alligator was laying. And I had my camera with me. So my friend stopped the car and I jumped out of the car and I started taking pictures and the alligator turned his head at me slowly and started toward me. And I’m going, “Oh my god, wow, wow, wow,” I’m taking pictures, and my friend is yelling, “Get in the car get in the car!” And I took pictures until he was on this side of the water, closest to me, and then I got in the car. In retrospect I didn’t realize how stupid that was.
